Cyprus Destinations
Discussion
Mrs G and I are planning a holiday to Cyprus in October as we know the sun is pretty guaranteed and it's not a long haul flight.
Can anyone recommend any areas to focus on or avoid. We are both looking for a relaxing time, no nightclubs, but hopefully within walking distance to local restaurants and bars. Either going to go B&B or half board depending on the local facilities.
Budget around £3-4,000.
Many thanks.

Most Brits tend to end up in the Paphos area. If you do and you hire a car, one of the best restaurants in the country IMO is Skyline in Kato Platres in the Troudos mountains. Well worth the 30 min drive.
On the Eastern side Protoras is nice. Forget about Limassol unless you like Russians.

We stop in Kapparis , in the middle of Paralimni and Protaras and it's nice there. Quiet, but still enough little bar & restaurants around.
The bus we get into Paralimni and Protaras and even to Napa when we have been to the waterpark in the past.
I have never been Paphos side but Protaras is sound for meals/few drinks etc. Not clubby at all until you go into Napa

We like to stay to on the outskirts of Paphos on the airport side - there are plenty of restaurants in what we call the triangle area near the Olympic Lagoon hotel. We particularly like Gabor French restaurant.
The Constantiou hotels are pretty good - if you can run to the Asimina Suites, highly recommended, we have been twice.

I'm assuming you mean the Greek side, but maybe consider the north Turkish side.
Empty beaches with lots of small restaurants. I stayed in Bogaz and ate at a beach side restaurant, I can't remember the name of the restaurant but I do remember ordering red snapper and the waiter said it would be about half an hour. I asked why so long and he pointed to a small boat out at sea and said they were catching it now.

Was just about to post the same thing!Overall, you get a third more for your money. Less commercialised (unless you opt for the Bafra coast near Famagusta) and more 'traditional' than the south and plenty of lovely beaches and things to do and go see.
Easy to come and go through the green line (border). Fly direct into Larnaca and transfer to the north or fly into Ercan in the north via Turkey.
Another vote for the Columbia Beach in Pissouri, an excellent hotel in a small village with a few decent restaurants within walking distabce. The little shack in the trees behind the middle of the beach does the best ever Souvlaki. Well worth having a car to get around the island though as there's also some good restaurants in the old town up on the hill and the Roman ruins in Paphos are a must visit.
Of all the places mentioned Polis and Latchi are the most unspoiled, however being as far west as it is, if you want to visit anywhere else, it's a long journey.
If you do go there and you enjoy Greek Cypriot food, the Moustakallis Tavern in Polis is a must!
We meet friends in Pissouri on a regular basis, we think it's gone downhill a bit recently,(no pun intended). If you want a quiet beach with taverna, near Pissouri, Avdimou beach is good, most people will refer to it as Melanda beach, but Melanda is the name of the taverna.
The old town in Limassol is good for eating and drinking in the evening. Not a beach person myself, but my wife goes with her mates to Dasoudi beach in Limassol, which they recommend to everyone.
The popular areas in Paphos can get very crowded.
The resorts in the east are a lot livelier and feel very manmade.
In October I would be expecting more than a few restaurants to have closed for the season.
Wherever you end up, hire a car and go inland, there's so much more to Cyprus than all inclusive beach resorts!

We have stayed at the Azia resort a number of times. https://aziaresort.com/ Excellent hotel, choice of restaurants, adults area, located right on the coast the Peyia side of Paphos. Nice coast path walk, plenty of cafe`s and bars near by. Short bus ride into Paphos.
Just for a change we have booked the Annabelle Hotel this September which is the other side of Paphos. All the reviews about this place are excellent.
