Roof bars and Roof boxes - are they universal?

Hi, im looking to get a roof box for my car but am a touch confused as to whether all the generic Halfords ones listed on FB marketplace will fit my 2010 Toyota Auris.

Has anyone fitted one of these before? How do they work?

You will need the correct roof bars for your car but the roof boxes are universal

Depending on the make, the bars may be universal so that all you will need is a fixing kit which will be specific to your car.

Cruze bars for example have different fitting kits for different cars - the only thing you need to watch out for is to make sure the length of the bar is long enough

Roof boxes are universal although aguan just make sure you don’t get a really long one which may impede opening the boot or have a big overhang at the front
