Been a while since I had anything other than the AA cover so thought I'd shop around.

Trouble is, everyone I check tells me they are the best and beyond any other service so I thought.........ask PH'ers for recent experiences recommendations.

Cost not really a concern, having a good service is.

The meerkat people put me onto Breakdown Assist it was 25£ for 9 days last month.

Previously annual cover via euro tunnel as covers multi trip (but with lockdowns probably months away what’s the point)!

Depending on your car, you may find that some breakdown companies won’t want to know.

I think the cut off date may be 15 years old which meant I struggled to get cover for my Griffith a couple of months ago. I eventually got cover from the RAC.

You may want to see if your current insurer will offer it as an additional cost option.

I used RAC.

No age limit on the car.. With a suspected stuck thermostat as we got to Le Mans, they arranged to transport the car and fly myself and passenger home + hire car in the mean time. Though it took a few days to get everything arranged while out there.

The car is less than 2 months old. I needntonchecknwhat coverage I may have through the manufacturer. I've looked at RAC and that's a good tale. I've also kind of abirt listed Green Flag and Euro Breakdown.

Went with the RAC.

I also remembered to upgrade my insurance to fully comp for the trip.

Think I have all boxes ticked now.
