BA Flight Cancelled What to Do

My Son is coming over from Sweden in a couple weeks and has just been told his return flight has been cancelled. He hasn’t spoken to them yet but what should he do, expect or be entitled to? Is it just a case of getting a refund and booking a new flight or are the airline expected to do it?

They should be able to switch his booking to a new flight of equal suitability, otherwise offer a refund and you start over.

I received a similar cancellation email for a flight from LHR to EDI next week, just logged on and rebooked a different flight from LCY at no additional cost.

Just had a message from him and he’s rebooked for a couple of days later at no extra cost. Took three minutes at the BA desk in Landvetter.
