Is the Elizabeth line running to Heathrow T5 from Paddington?
Each time I try using TFL planner site it only gives option for Heathrow Express at circa £37 return, rather use Elizabeth line as way cheaper will be needing to use on the 20th July probably around 5.30am

Does it just go straight to T5 without any changes at say T3? I've Obviously not used this line yet.

35 minutes and £10:80 one way.... surely that's the death knell for the Heathrow Express isn't it?

Once word gets out it may well be. Will be my preferred public transport option to Heathrow now, for sure.

Only reason I would pay more for the express would be if it went from somewhere other than Paddington. It's a pain to get to from where we are.

Going back many years ago it was actually sometimes cheaper for me to take a cab from Heathrow to home in Wiltshire instead of the Express and then BR train home, was inevitably about the same time length too.

I've only done Elizabeth from Paddington to Liverpool St so far but no complaints from me and it'll be my preferred choice now too

for Heathrow you have to go via Hayes right?

Paddington> Hayes > Heathrow stops.

It's annoying that Elizabeth line shows up as XR (Crossrail) on many travel websites, and TFL have not updated their site to show anything other than Heathrow express schedule options (quicker to Heathrow but much more expensive).

>>Ah just worked it out - if you use the advanced journey planner and set Hayes and Harlington as the Via option, they do start showing Elizabeth line trips and prices. £21.90 for a single Reading > Heathrow T5 for example

As I've already said, just download the Elizabeth Line timetable for T5.
No planners etc needed
