Passport Query

My sons passport has expired, last photo was that of when he was 3/4. He’s now a very different looking 13yr old so assume we have a more lengthy wait on our hands to renew.

I have the last week of August off and yet to book anything abroad. Im loath to book anything until I get the passport back. I was about to get his photo taken at Snappy Snaps and get the ball rolling.

Should I save myself the hassle and book within the UK or do you think 4/5 week turn around is doable?

Do it online and do it today, it is doable.
Take the photo with your phone camera as per the directions on the website instead of going to a shop.

I renewed mine on the 22nd of June and it's due to be posted this coming week.

I renewed mine online on 25th June, posted the old one on 28th June (hadn't realised they would need that) and recieved the new one about 10 mins ago. Thought that was pretty impressive.
