Euro road trip - leg 2 Andermatt, Switzerland
Discussion
Well Switzerland is lovely but it’s bloody expensive (average cheap meal with a couple of drinks each £75!).
We based ourselves in Andermatt in order to do a few of the Swiss mountain passes. We couldn’t check into our apartment (Andermatt Alpine Apartments) until 4pm. Very nice accommodation located next to the Radisson Hotel on the edge of town.
Next day we drove the Furkapass, Grimselpass & Sustenpass but as it was a Sunday it was pretty busy particularly with bikers. Favourite was definitely the Sustenpass with nice wide roads & good sight lines.
Monday was supposed to be another driving day but pulling the car out the car park I noticed the TPM was showing a loss of .4 bar in the rear NS tyre. So that screwed our day - luckily found an airline & found a repair garage within 20 km. Luckily it was repairable but £55 for a puncture repair ??.
Anyway onwards and upwards next stop Annecy, France.

Do the Nufenen Pass on your way. It's the quietest of the lot.
We did get to do the Furkapass again completely traffic free on the Tuesday which was nice although there was a bit of low cloud but nothing major. We passed the junction for the Nufenen but we were on a mission to get to our next accommodation for an early check-in.mr pg said:
