Lanzarote Beaches
Discussion
The Mrs and I are going to Lanzarote in September for 10 nights. We have been quite a few times now so we are quite familiar with the island but wondered if anyone had any particularly quiet beaches they go to? Ideally away from the other tourists.
We have a car so can go anywhere and we are familiar with Qlaya Quemada and Papagayo Beaches
Thanks!

Famara beach can be busy sometimes with surfers but if you walk along the beach towards the cliffs
it gets quieter and the further you walk the less clothes some people don't wear
we only walked half way

The nicest beaches IMO are the five Papagayo bays near Playa Blanca - it's the two most easterly ones that have the most relaxed attitude to beach attire.
The man made ones along the front of PB and Puerto del Carmen are probably the best for kids as they're sheltered and gently sloping and some of them have lifeguards.
Costa Teguise beaches can be like the inside of a grit blaster whenever its windy and Famara has undercurrents to be wary of.
If you want quiet then there's a series of sand dunes and small bays along the coast road in the north east corner of the island and while you're up there there's always the opportunity of a short ferry ride and a day on la Graciosa island where the beaches are stunning.
