Sailing Holiday
Discussion
So, decided last year to take the family on a sailing holiday, as potentially looking at buying a boat in a few years. We start from Athens, and have 7 days, so the options seems to be the 'Argo Saronic Gulf' or the 'Cyclades'. It is myself, wife and three children (ages 9, 13 & 15). Any recommendations on places to stay/visit ? I'm edging more torwards the Cyclades personally.
This is what we have chartered (Dufour 530);

Funny you say that.
I had that boat (or type) from Mykonos for the Cyclades in May this year (mentioned in the other thread : Who is sailing where
Who are you getting it from ? I believe ours was based from Athens (with Flyly) named Anema.
I did years ago have a week from Athens trying to crack down to Mykonos and back but in the 42ft we had at the time it seemed 'too much' unless you were hell bent on sailing versus enjoying, playing, laying in the sun.
We had mixed fortune and very mixed weather. The boat was poorly prepped stand in at the beginning of the season and the weather started at 28kn, ended at 3kn, and large to flat seas, so did not plan an epic voyage plan, but played safe.

Must admit, we were hoping to get to Mykonos but appreciate its much dependant on conditions.
This will be our first sailing holiday, so it’s quite possible there will be itinerary changes should the kids, wife or myself suddenly find themselves have issues.
Hoping for a fantastic trip though, and leading to many similar holidays in the future.
