Seeing as car hire prices in Florida are crazy at the moment I'm looking at alternatives, Turo looks to be a pretty large car sharing site but has anyone here used them before and if so how was your experience?

Turo’d a Quattroporte for 10 days for the price of a Focus a couple of years back. No worries.

Not used myself but plenty of close friends have used it with no probs.

As with pretty much any marketplace - eBay, Autotrader, Airbnb, etc etc there are scammers, so you just need to be vigilant and use someone highly rated. If you actively search out scams or nightmare service for literally any large consumer business you will find some dirt!

Would be a shame to not save some $ (and potentially get to rent something cooler than standard rental stock) just because of some scaremongering!

used once in vegas no problem. Will use again. One thing to consider though is you have to take their insurance, since its peer to peer and not a car rental company any hire car insurance you might have isnt valid.
