Afternoon all,

I’ve reached out to the operators but don’t expect a quick reply due to the strike action impacting thousands so thought I’d try get a bit of guidance.

Was heading to the Sir Jackie Stewart festival outside Edinburgh this weekend.

Travelling Friday 17th and return Wednesday 22nd.

Booked tickets in 2 lots as direct with LNER was £30 more expensive for the £5 tube journey.

First part is Hampshire to Victoria and return non refundable advanced singles booked from trainline.

Second part is booked through LNER direct Kings Cross to Edinburgh, lumo (non refundable) up and return on LNER.

LNER have just cancelled my return leg from Edinburgh but won’t allow you to refund til Friday or book on to another service which of course is no help when I travel up Friday.

My question is as I booked direct with LNER and they’ve cancelled my return am I likely to have my outbound journey refunded?

Secondly as my connection is cancelled and let’s face it my return from Victoria likely impacted can I get a refund on a non refundable ticket as it’s outside of my control?

Doesn’t seem to cover your train home is cancelled but your train outbound isn’t.

Not sure it matters who you booked through, they're merely acting as an agent.
You seem to be going on a single with LUMO outbound which, as far as I know, is nothing to do with LNER.
Check LUMO T&Cs.

All tickets are refundable if the train doesn't run. If you book as a return then you can get both halves refunded if one leg doesn't run, but I'm not sure where you stand if you booked 2 different tickets/orders, one for each leg.

Maybe someone else knows more.

That sounds promising.

My booking was with LNER for the return including the outbound on the lumo so they I assume are an agent, so will hopefully refund me the journey.
