I swear I’m fated not to have a holiday.

With the news from Virgin that all sailings on the Resilient Lady have been cancelled that’s my cruise from Athens gone. The third holiday in a row that’s either been cancelled or I’ve had to cancel myself.

On the bright side the compensation is very very good.

200% cruise credit plus a free cruise if you take them both this year.

So we’ve got the agent looking for a back to back which seems the best option for us.

Anyone else booked on Virgin?

I'd read that Virgin have postponed the launch of that ship completely for now and it will remain in the builders port in Italy.

I haven't done a Virgin cruise (I'm not sure it looks quite what I'd want TBH) but have just returned from a cruise with another line which also left & returned to Athens. It was brillant and the Greek Islands are simply stunning.

I hope you get something else sorted quickly so you've got something to look forward too.

We're booked on Resilient Lady, Dubai to Singapore late next year. Just checked the booking and there's nothing saying it's not on so maybe they think everything will be sorted out by then.

We were on Scarlet Lady from Miami for new year and it was fantastic. Only other cruise I've ever been on was Norwegian to Cuba a few years ago and there was no comparison although it was a lot of fun as well.

Bit of a update.

Managed to book a weeks cruise using the 200% credit and the weeks free cruise for the week before. Even got the same cabin so we don’t have to move. Got it for approx the same dates which coincides with the OH’s 65th which was the main reason for booking in the first place.

Unfortunately it’s out of Barcelona doing the Western Med which we’ve done a couple of times before but most ports we haven’t done. And even tho it’s a back to back it’s not the same places both weeks.

So 2 weeks for the price of 1 and an upgraded cabin. And maybe with a bit of credit left over to use next year.

Sounds a very reasonable compo deal, best start the pre- cruise diet today mind!

Hope the entertainment has been stepped up a notch or five since we went a month ago, it was dire sadly....
