Hiring a car abroad - paper licence bit needed??

Does anyone know if I can hire a car in France just using the photocard part of my licence?? Wife has managed to leave the paper part behind!

They don't give the paper part out anymore so you should be fine with just the photocard.

You can check for penalty points on the government website https://www.gov.uk/check-driving-information by getting a code that the hire company can look up.

I`ve taken this "Check Code" with me when hiring a car abroad many times, but no one has ever asked to see it.

I don’t have a photo card licence. You just need to show your passport for the photo ID requirement and your tattered old paper licence.
