Popping to Jersey next week but I've just had a realisation - I'm mapped for 99RON, not sure what the fuel situation is like there in terms of availability?

Just wondering if I should be packing some octane boosters / filling up in Portsmouth etc?

If no one can help I’d look on street view to see what the garage signs say. I’ve done this to check on things like parking restrictions access etc, it can be very helpful.

I shouldn't worry, as the speed limit on the island of Jersey is 40mph MAX and many places have a 20 limit, strictly enforced, so a top up in Pompey to make sure you don't run dry, circling at 40, should suffice.

Cheers both, Did see an Esso on the north coast that looks like it has 99 hopefully.

Did think I'll probably not get through much fuel given the size of the island :P

Put in 95/97 if you have to.... and drive like a granny, which you'll have to anyway in jersey.

You will soon get fed up of driving on Jersey. It's tiny, slow and can get congested. Just fill up in Pompey, and you should have more or less a full tank when you return

Last time I looked (5 yr ago) the best I could get was BP 97 in St Helier at about double the price of 95!.

yeah pretty sure you have exactly zero chance of 99Ron.

Might be one place doing 97, but have a feeling that stopped a little while ago.

edit: check ATF fuels also, think they do 97, but there's only a couple of them. Their "advanced" was 97.

Like people have said its pretty hard to get through much fuel in jersey, so unless you're there for a while just fill up before you go, maybe if you get down to a quarter tank just stick in a quarter of 97 and you'll be fine.

The other question is, are you taking the portsmouth ferry? the long overnight one? -i'd drive over to Poole and take the Condor liberation for a 4 hour trip

Esso is selling 99 on Jersey, Rubis up at the airport too and Falles Longueville. There are more garages selling it cross the island so no worries.
