Plan to pop across to Lisbon in a July but apparently although my NHS passport says it's "valid until November 2022" there's a myriad of other restrictions with 270 days since last jab being common, as mine were march & June '21 I guess another jab is the only effective option if I want to travel?

I think the 270 days / 9 months validity is an EU thing, so it’s booster time for you.

Are we are going to get into a 2 tier system soon, where old people and the immuno-suppressed are allowed to travel for free, yet everyone else has to pay for testing as they aren't entitled to further boosters?

The booster(s) do not have a time restraint, see below

Use one of the online options. You can even use an NHS testing kit.
Dip the tester in water if you want. Not that I advise doing this. Photo of the result and an hour later you have your certificate. £12 and your off.
No messing

What does it say for Portugal, given that's where the OP is going?

Just kidding, I'm sure it's the same smile

Just wondering, my (unvaccinated) Mrs is off to Spain for work in a couple of weeks, I understand that it is pcr 72 hours before or LFT/ Antigen 24 hours before. My question is though what do you do with the results?! i've seen people say upload them but to where?!

Just back from PT and although there was a man at Porto airport (and one in Faro when I went in November 2021 as well) I could have waved any piece of paper with a QR code on it at him and I'd have been through.

It struck me both times that those at the coal face know how much of a nonsense it is but are forced to do it.
I'd just take a copy of a mate's paperwork and not worry about it if I was you.

It looks France considers you unvaccinated (their word not mine) if you had your booster more than 9 months after your second dose.

On the paid for LFT (NHS is no good) you will up load a negative test result photo and get a certificate back saying negative. That is what you input into the Spanish locator form that I think your wife has to fill in as an unvaccinated person.

From what I can gather, depending on who she flies with the airline may or may not ask to see the paperwork and on arrival in Spain they may or may not check it.

I went a few weeks ago and flashed my 2 jabs (last one 10 months ago at the time) plus a recovery pass and all was fine.

I go again in a week's time and all my certificates say expiry 3rd of June so I should (just!) be ok - going to ask a friend to send a screenshot of his just in case though

I fly to Spain in July, having not had a booster jab. I was concerned about taking a pre-flight,but from what I can see it costs less than £20 to do an anti-gen test at home, you upload the negative result photo to the suppliers website, and an hour or so later they email a certificate, which from what I've heard is only requested at the airport maybe 10% of the time.

So that'll be my plan, sod the booster nonsense.

Not even an hour! On the ones I have done about 30 seconds!
