Hi all,
Been thinking of a French driving trip over the top of mount Ventoux, however heard a few reports that the road to the top is permanently close and access by car is only part way up due to environmental development and sustainability.
Does any one know exactly what the score is?
Can you still drive from Malaucene over the top and down the other side to Sault ?

Thanks for any insight.
Big F.

Not aware of any restrictions but it’s 5 years since I last cycled up it.
As it’s one of the most cycled routes in France I feel sure I would have seen something in the cycling press.
Where’s your information from?
Could be cars only but cars are not allowed right at the summit the parking areas are lower down.
Cyclists and pedestrians at the top only

If you are going, stay in Orange! Absolutely lovely little town packed to the gunnels with Roman architecture.

Try the Gorges du Verdon too if you're in the area. Somewhat more spectacular than the Ventoux.

Thanks, useful information.
I think the road was temporarily close to the top as to allow works to be carried out at the very top. I've watched a few 2022 utube vids of car tours and they made it over the top and down the other side. Fingers crosses and all that.

Yes that's the article I read but I think it was only for 2021, thanks.
