Aer Lingus - Cabin baggage question
Discussion
Hi PH,
So I'm going to Dublin at the end of the week for work, flying out Friday staying over the weekend and coming back Monday, never had to fly for work or on my own before so I think I'm over thinking it!
I've just checked in for the outward flight (twin prop!)and I have noticed that the cabin luggage requirements are quite small (48x33x20), the smallest case I have is at least 55x40x24 (I think), how strict are they on this sort of thing?
Have seen a cheap case for £25 on Amazon, I don't want to check my bag in as speed is key in getting to the Dublin office once landed.

48x33x20 isn't small. That's 30L.So I'm going to Dublin at the end of the week for work, flying out Friday staying over the weekend and coming back Monday, never had to fly for work or on my own before so I think I'm over thinking it!

55x40x24 is 52L, that's definitely taking the piss.
You could get away with 35L especially if it's a soft bag that can deform. if you look like you're taking the piss, you'll get pulled up and in the best case asked to check the bag. Depending on the type of twin prop, they can be quite strict as they've lower weight limits than jets.
You want to be fast through an airport, leave the oversized case at home like the lead weight it is and get a backpack. I've a 30L backpack and can fit everything I need for a 5 day trip including the laptop and associated crap.

I know I'm over thinking for what is only 3 nights!
