Hi,

Asking for a friend.

I assume he won't be able to come on my stag do in one months time in Ibiza?

He refuses to have the vacine and it appears proof of a negative test before travel is no longer accepted?

I have found that the website references diagnostic certificates are accepted but from what else I have read online that doesn't sound correct?

Thanks

To confirm, you have not been vaccinated?

Are you a UK a passport holder and unvaccinated and flying from a UK airport?

As I understand the Spanish rules, then unvaccinated adults are not allowed in at all even with a negative test.

What you need if unvaccinated is a recovery certificate- I think the NHS pass showing that you have had covid will suffice.

This was my belief, however he hasn't had COVID so cant do this.

As far as I can tell he has two weeks to try and catch COVID to get let in...

Thankfully I have had the vacine etc as has everyone else who is going.

This was my fear as well before I flew, however:

There were zero checks before getting on the plane.
Zero checks before passport control.
2 people checking people's print outs just before the baggage reclaim belts.
No consistency with who got sent in which direction (testing / non-testing).
No consistency with who was tested and who wasn't in the testing line.
Once I was tested they just told me I could leave. If you were sly you could have just walked off and no-one would have noticed.

No idea what other airports were like but Malaga was shocking.

Same for France, no booster within 9 months, you class as un-vaccinated. I spent £100 on LF tests for my weekend away at the Monaco Classic last weekend. 2 to "enter" France, 1 per day for 2 of us for the event itself.

No checks at Nice Airport, no checks at the event.

Only thing I had to do was buy FFP2 masks for the flight as you need to wear them on public transport.

It's all an absolute nonsense now and the sooner all this vaccine and mask silliness gets dropped the better. inho

Didn't know that.... I was boosted in November last year and am in France in July.... seems I will just scrape through.

As far as I can see, a 2nd booster jab is not currently offered in the UK unless you're over 75 or vulnerable in some way.

I flew into Malaga Thursday last week (12th). Staff in white outfits checked everyone's qr code from the SPTH entry form.

However, when you fill out the form online, you can enter anything you like about your vaccination, whether you have had it or not. I was scanned and waved through, but my mate was checked. I'll ask him as I think they wanted to see his NHS record. Was told his had expired but let him through, which makes no sense as his dates are similar to mine.

I have an other mate who is unvaccinated. I'll refrain from saying he "refuses" as that implies some sort of petulance, he simply does not want one, as do many people, for their own reasons that are valid to them. He's flying to Ibiza for a stag and is resigned to the fact he may well be getting a flight refund and not going if Spain keep moving the goal posts. Ironically , I think he had COVID a while ago but won't acknowledge it. He could have prob had an antibody test and a certificate :-)

Thanks a lot, it sounds like the case is he completes the passenger locator form and takes the risk.

I suggest he could say he forgot his vscine proof and worse case they make him do a test at the airport. I can't see them forcing him to fly back to the UK immediately or hitting him with a massive fine unless he was bloody unlucky?

It's a case of risk vs reward I suppose...

the problem is that many people, myself included caught covid at christmas and the recovery certificates are only valid for 180 days after the positive PCR test.

therefore you can lie and get one anyway but for those that caught it at christmas and don't want to do that, you are booking a booster.

Yep - just checked with my mate - they wanted to see his NHS pass. Mine, not interested. Random checks.

I have been looking into this ruling as well, I'm double vaccinated and one booster, you need to read the rules carefully as its the 270 day headline that catches your attention. In reality if you have had 2 vaccines and then a booster (or two) then you can enter Spain (and France etc) as the booster has no time limit as per the info below

This all seems like a right hassle for a stag do. Blackpool has strippers and a beach. You’re going to be too drunk to realise your not in Spain.

Did the airline check anything before boarding in the Uk? Interested to know what airline you used.

Also, you have Mail.
