I'm travelling to Reims on Weds/Thurs with a mate in a pair of 996 C4S's and we were planning to visit the old circuit.
I've read that it's now illegal to stop around the old pits, but wondering if anyone has visited since the ban came into place and has any real-world experience of how rigidly this is being enforced?

If it's definitely not possible to stop, is it possible to park up anywhere nearby and access the pit buildings on foot?

Cheers.

Oh wow. You're right

When we went the nearby police wandered out to see what cars were making noise, were parked up, but as we were all there for photos they didn't seem bothered.

Yeah, sad times! I've seen multiple sources reporting it, so it seems to be true.

More health & safety to prevent those thousands of potential accidents that never happened before

How much do you want to bet that cars with yellow number plates on the back are the only ones targeted?

Shame.

I made a point of stopping off there on a journey back from a trip to see a fellow PH'er in the French Alps many years ago. There was something about the place that was so evocative.

In all fairness it was also helped somewhat by an F40 and F50 driving (loudly) through at the time!

Ah one of those 'accident blackspots' is it? Never known of an accident there caused by somebody parked off the road in the pit area.

Seems like some elected official has become power hungry and would rather kill any tourism the local area has to offer.

Quick update after our visit - there do appear to be a couple of no stopping signs further up the road but no evidence of any enforcement and there were several other cars stopped for photos.

So if you were planning a visit, I’d definitely still go for it!
