Hi - I'm looking for recommendations for search sites for Greek properties - to buy. (I would add, we are planning to go over in Autumn for a look about but want to get a start via the web)

The reason I ask is I can't readily find ones that have decent filters. The ones I've tried so far tend to

Ignore stipulation for pool, and or view and just show you what they want you to see.
Ignore selection of "house" and NOT "plot" or computer graphic representation of what you could have.

Looking for a site with more nuanced filters.

p.s. is it a global thing? or a Greek thing? - to keep finding properties with very misleading photos - i.e one I looked at today ticked all the boxes until inspection of google maps with timeline revealed the photos are at least 4 years old and the views are now blocked by new houses in front! :-) - this has not been an uncommon experience so far.

p.p.s I'm looking at Greece as a retirement option as they offer a very palatable golden visa scheme (spend 250,000 Euros on a property and that's it - done!). Plan was always Tuscany but I have no passive income so that's a non starter now. The slight catch is now every property in Greece with a pool starts at....... 250,000 Euros :-) But that's ok.

Failing any good answers, you could try the rental sites and ask the owners if they are interested in selling.

Is that spend €250,000 on a property but still depend on your own income/pension, or do you then get a Greek pension.

Just asking for a friend.

I'd be interested in a link too as the Greek Islands are my kind of 'curve-ball' retirement destination. smile

Stating the obvious I assume is Rightmove Greece:

No pension as far as I'm aware - you just get indefinite residency with option to apply for citizenship after 7 years. And yes, it's 250k euros on a property to qualify. You don't even need to go there - so, of course, chinese are snapping up properties so they get schengen acess to Europe. Which has of course resulted in, as far as I can tell, lots of properties that were previously worth a fair bit less, magically jumping to 250k :-)

Re Righmove - it does work, but, like all the sites I'm trying so far, it lists loads of artists impressions / CGI renders, plots of land etc, ignoring your filters. I've used villa rental sites that are way more nuanced in the way you filter. I guess these selling sites don't want you filtering out too much as they are being paid to list them!

Greece is becoming our curve ball . I so wanted to go back to Italy (lived there before) but they are making it too difficult, and, one wonders if they will actually ever stop wearing masks :---). (more seriously, the stringency of their measures has set off alarm bells tbh)
