Wizz Air says that they dont have Air Passenger Duty Tax
Discussion
I completed the Wizz Air only form to claim back Air Passenger Duty Tax on flights not taken.
The form I completed was specifically for claiming back APD.
The first response I received from Wizz Air at the beginning of April said that they don't refund duties and taxes.
Not accepting this as case closed, I reply requesting an explanation on the same day.
Yesterday I received an email saying:
''Please note that Wizz Air is lowcost company, and we do not have any Airport taxes.
If you have any further questions or proposals, do not hesitate to contact us.''
I have not yet responded. Its not a huge amount of money and isn't worth a huge effort to chase it. But are they right?
If they dont have Air Passenger Duty Tax then why have a form on their website where you can claim back for it?

I don't see how they could avoid APD, but I suspect their response is referring to taxes specific to a particular airport (over and above APD).
This. I suspect the response has more to do with the respondee having English as a second language.
They likely haven't avoided APD. However are they under a legal obligation to refund it (genuine question as I don't know)? Other airlines could be refunding it as a matter of policy.
Your receipt should have a schedule of fees and taxes though.
