Where would you go? (early Jun, pre New job)
Discussion
Hi All,
Been wondering what to do and grateful for some thoughts.
First Day free to travel = 5 June
First Day at New Job either 15 or 20 June
At Le Mans 9 - 13 June.
I had hoped to travel (with my wife joining). etween ending my old job and starting my new. Maybe to SE Asia, the Middle East or Africa.
Due to dates, with Le Mans right in the middle, its a little tricky what I spend my time doing.
I would like if my other half joined, she won't be at Le Mans. Instead at home in London.
With her not being at Le Mans, it means we'd need to find a way to meet up.
Also, I hadn't planned to take a car to Le Mans, I was getting a lift.
Initial plans:
5-8 June
- Staycation. Head out into countryside. Spa Hotels. Wine tastings. Cooking experiences. Find some great roads.
- Drive to France with my wife. Go down towards Le Havre and back. She drops me off at Calais. My mates pick me up and take me to Le Mans.
- Marrakech. Would I have enough time?
Alternatively...
I could not do much 5-8 June. Instead travel after Le Mans. My wife is likely to only be able to joing 14-17.
This either means go somewhere it's worth her going for a few days, that she can get back to London on 17th.
Or, I go without her for 14-19. In which case, not sure where to go.
Grateful for thoughts and ideas.
Cheers

I'm making two assumptions here... That you have a half decent car and you want to spend time with you Mrs!
You really have two long weekends with some spare time for logistics. So I'd drive both of you to Epernay (assuming you like champagne...) or similar for the first few days. Then drive her to Calais or a local airport, convoy to LM.
Then collect her from CDG after LM and road trip south via the Alps, or Ile de Re/west coast for a few days, put her on a plane wherever you end up the solo road trip home.

Bill - that's such a bloody great plan!!! You really have two long weekends with some spare time for logistics. So I'd drive both of you to Epernay (assuming you like champagne...) or similar for the first few days. Then drive her to Calais or a local airport, convoy to LM.
