Well it's all fked up.
The wife never changed her maiden name at doctors. Can't verify her identity for NHS app as it all shows her married name. Advice is to change details at Doctors.
Doctors closed until Monday.
She is no longer flying tomorrow. Going to try and sort it, then find an affordable way of getting her out to join us, if such a thing exists.

I’d head to the airport with her paperwork and marriage certificate and see what they say at the checkin counter tbh and treat your scenario as “worst case”
The lack of a vaccination certificate is fatal. If I could get one, then with the paperwork I'd give it a go. But we can't even get as far as getting one in her old name, as all her ID is in her married name.Starfighter said:
It depends on where you are going. By example the USA requires a vaccination recorded with date limits and a test to enter the country by air.
Nope, they do not and that was why I asked the question. USA need a negative test and do not check vaccination status. Same for planes coming to the US. The US also only need a rapid test that has been observed. These can be done at the airport. When I travelled from the UK to the US I did a FaceTime call which fulfilled the observed requirement.
Having said the above, it should be noted some NYC restaurants and theaters could still ask for a vaccine card. I was there yesterday and didn’t get asked.

Mine was checked this morning.
I was very tempted to alter a certificate but ultimately the risks and consequences are too great

Also, as you say, do not alter vaccine cards as that is a federal crime with potential prison stay.
