We are looking to move to Spain later this year, with a non lucrative residence Visa. As anyone any experience of obtaining one? Could I do it myself or should I engage a professional for help?

We looked into it last year, moving from France but decided we couldn’t be arsed starting over again.
Had we gone down that route we would have used a Spanish lawyer as they can apply for all your other stuff to assimilate us into the system.

There is a very useful facebook group,Citizens advice Spain(or something like that) which is run by some very knowledgeable volunteers,it’s a mine of useful information and advice.

If you could afford a golden visa,I think that’s the route I would go.

We took that last route assuming the Golden visa would overcome all problems. At our last meeting, our lawyer was advocating a non-lucrative visa as, either way, it is the cost of total health cover that is expensive.

The first step is making an appointment with a Spanish consulate in the UK. Providing you can meet the financial requirements, I do not believe this route is too onerous. A Gestoria may cost less than a lawyer.

Had massive variations on quotes for helping us with this from 1500€ to 250€. What is a Gestoria?
