Dohop connection insurance with Easyjet
Discussion
Just booked a flight to France with Easyjet, with a stopover in London, and it flagged up Dohop connection insurance to cover for missed connections, they'll organise you onto a different flight and cover any (possibly not all) costs. I'd never seen such insurance during any booking process before, and never heard of Dohop, it's never been mentioned in PH forums that I can find either.
I thought about it and looked up some reviews and they were all positive for when people needed assistance, so as it was only thirty quid and for a family holiday where I wouldn't want to get stranded with small children I went with it. I know our travel insurance wouldn't cover missed connections.
Is it unusual to offer such insurance at point of sale, and has it ever come in handy for anyone? If we didn't need to make the booking tonight I'd have waited to see what the response was but the seat prices were a steal so didn't want to miss them.

I had a similar flight some time ago with easyjet, barcelona-gatwick-jersey I think it was, and like you had dohop thrown in on it, like you it seems I also spent ages trying to figure out exactly what the hell it was and how to use it.
Closes I got was this article on flyertalk

But yes, ultimately it seems to basically be an insurance policy, and I think if a connection is missed the onus is on you to find alternatives etc and call them and ask them to rebook you.
