My 19 year old son is flying to Norway for a couple of weeks and in the manner of the young, he can't be told.....

That health insurance is a good idea, especially as it'll be us that pays, sells the house, go on the game..if he has an accident.

He claims that anyone with a British passport is covered. I've read some stuff that seems to say this but then goes on to say that you should also have health cover.

Bit ambiguous. Do they for example, help with immediate injuries but then anything long term resulting in a long stay can end up costing?

Anyone advise?

Cheers and thanks for any help.

Of course I could just take out cover in his name and save myself worrying.

Surely travel insurance is a no brainier not just for potential medical issues. You might have to remind him that the barman is not robbing him, that just how much booze costs…

With his passport he’ll get the same medical care as a Norwegian which is to say, basically, heavily subsidised. He’d still have to pay for stuff up front but it’s capped at less than 200quid for the year.

Of course if he breaks his back he won’t have the 100grand or whatever it is to get repatriated.

Ta.

That is what I imagined would be the situation.
