Covid certificate in married name - Spain Travel
Discussion
Morning
We are due to fly to spain on Saturday, have filled in the passenger locator form and hit an issue as the wife’s covid vaccination records are in her married name and the passport is still in the maiden name.
Whats your thought’s, take a marriage cert and driving licence?
Malaga airport for what it is worth.

Can't speak for Malaga but I am regularly through Alicante airport and not had the vaccination certificate checked at all for some time now. The PLF won't accept the upload of the UK vaccination certificates so I click "later" on that section, which is enough to finalise the PLF form. Once complete, I have the QR code, which is all that is scanned at the airport as you pass through - in other words no one has checked my proof of vaccination.
I was asked on the last flight whether I had proof of vaccination by the jet2 staff on boarding, but even they didn't require sight of it.
Might be different on other airlines, other routes etc, but I suspect you will be completely fine.

Ah, I'm with you.As I say, really cannot see much of an issue but if you take the documents you suggest I am sure it will be fine. On my experiences of 20+ post-Covid flights to Spain I would be v surprised if you are asked to show anything other than the PLF QR code and your passport for stamping.

I have just filled the forms out, the character recognition of the PLF looks for a match with the name entered. If you don't upload the covid form I think you can take it with you. Alternatively just put the maiden name in and take the marriage cert.
Yes will go with this option, maiden name on PLF to match passport and have DL and marriage cert should a query arise re. Vaccination. Thanks

The airline don’t carry out any checks, its the passenger locator form that is in spain upon arrival that is checked.
The airline will check; they won’t let you on the plane without them. The Spanish will rely on that fact and most likely not bother checking them. That’s my recent experience anyway. 2 GKC said:
EasyJet 3 weeks ago.
EasyJet checked the PLF paperwork when we checked our bags. No one else did on departure or arrival
We flew to porto but I’d be surprised if the Spanish are any more diligent.
Might have been because you were checking in luggage. I’ve flown countless times with RA and jet2 and they only just ask the question of whether I had proof of vaccination, or to show it. 6 months ago it was different. I’m at the airport now about to board a flight (fromEasyJet checked the PLF paperwork when we checked our bags. No one else did on departure or arrival

Spain) and no one has asked for it.

On arrival to Madrid earlier this month they wanted to see proof of the SptH form. Worth trying to complete one way or another.
Think every airport will want to see the QR code for the SptH form but the point I was making was that you can complete this without the vaccination certificate being uploaded. In fact I cannot upload it to the form in any way so just tick the box marked "I can't show this at this time". As I say, last multiple trips back and forward to Spain, haven't been asked by the airline to see the certificate either but might just be luck/the airline/airport so best to be belt and braces as the OP is doing. Have been flying jet2 for the last 3 months as Ryanair shut the route over winter and only just started back up. Flew RA back last night from Spain and the first time with no PLF needed to the UK which almost felt weird! Fly back Monday with RA so intrigued as to whether they ask for actual sight of the proof of vaccination.
Just to bring this to a close, we arrived in Malaga yesterday.
Easyjet did not ask to see any PLF or even question vaccination records outbound.
Malaga airport passport control took less than 30 seconds. After that we were routed to document control, again no queue at all, they scanned my PLF and scanned my secondary vaccination record, i walked through with baited breath, my wife got her PLF scanned and was told just to go through
Both of us marked vaccination records as “show later” on the PLF.
Because it was so quick we had to wait an age for baggage
