Hi any help would be appreciated

According to gov.uk to travel to Greece unvaccinated, all i need is a pcr or antigen test,

The worry i have is, will i have to do another test to satisfy the Greeks at the airport to come home,

I’m well aware the UK won’t require anything.

I ask because the same thing happened on my trip to Italy, on the way back they were asking for proof of vaccine

Who was asking on the way back from Italy (and when was that)?

I've had a quick look on the Gov.GR website and it does not appear that there are any requirements for return travel. I'll be over there myself in a few days time so am interested too, as I've not had a booster.

It may be worth taking a test anyway, for peace of mind. Most chemists provide a test with certificate for €10-12.

On another note, not sure if you're aware but there is still the requirement to provide ("if asked") proof of vaccination to enter indoor areas of establishments such as restaurants, bars, etc..

More info here - https://travel.gov.gr/#/

I think there was a lot of confusion at that time - but if it was before the removal of PLF's and the requirement for unvaccinated people to isolate then they were within their rights to ask you to show your status at check-in as you would have had to make the declaration on the PLF anyway (and state whether or not you were required to isolate on arrival in UK). Now there is nothing required at all so they should not be asking you for anything beyond a passport and ticket formalities.
