Anyone landed at Chambery airport recently?

From memory, Chambery is a shed and a couple of portacabins. Might be a vending machine or possibly a small coffeshop type place. I'd take the "plan ahead" option.
Thanks, a distant memory in my mind agrees with you, but wondered if perhaps it had improved at all, but I fear not. Never been through there, but it's on the opposite side of our region (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes). ISTR reading an article about it in the quarterly regional magazine and it looked bigger in the pics than Limoges which has a cafe and small shop, so maybe not as bad as the OP is thinking??
Has a Duty Free shop, Restaurant and Gift shop, according to their web page.

Damn, boarding lounge, so no use for arrivals I guess. https://www.chambery-airport.com/en/services/duty-...
There are a couple of kiosks in the main hall, but mainly flogging tourist tat and the odd baguette/croissant/coffee.
I doubt you'll be able to get a beer non-airside, if you can I would imagine it it expensive.
In my several trips to the Alps via Chambery over the years there has always been a lot of faffing around on arrival getting people onto coaches, waiting for the ubiquitous 'Manchester flight', then the schlep into resort. I just use it as opportunity to get some kip before heading out in resort.
Are you that gagging to have a beer?

I would love to say no I'm not gagging, but I know that the 6 of us will be very disappointed to have a 3 hour coach trip without and 'roadies', especially as it's quite a late landing......so yeah we'll need to plan ahead. Ok, plan ahead seems to be wise then.
I think there's a couple of vending machines in the arrival area iirc, but we usually breakfast at Gatwick & try & get out of Chambery a.s.a.p as the luggage can take an age to be unloaded & then eat / drink again if required at the m'way services comfort stop mid transfer. Heading towards V.T or Val there's a castle on a hill overlooking the services which where we usually stop.Edited by Richard-390a0 on Tuesday 15th March 15:52

Fair, maybe closer to two hours getting to Val T. I assume they'll insist on stopping once en route!
I can comfortably drive from Chambery to VT in an hour and twenty minutes and I have never known a transfer coach stop en route from Chambery unless to put snow chains on.UTH said:
