Typical.

First break away since CV19 kicked off and I test positive.

Wife is utterly devastated.

Unsure if this text means I’m up st creek.

Both triple jabbed BTW.

It's not unlawful to do anything now relating to COVID, you can still legally go even if you have tested positive.

Not to sound high and mighty but my moral compass when it comes to CV19 is pretty strong.

If there is no legal restrictions stopping you from going then you will almost certainly lose money, you can't just cancel a holiday because you want to and expect a refund (Yes i know it sounds condescending but that's how they'll see it)

They may do a goodwill gesture but i wouldn't expect it

First off, good on you for being responsible for yourself. A rare trait these days.

Secondly, try ringing, emailing them explaining the situation. They might let you rebook or refund you just to keep your business in future.

Why bother to test if this is the potential outcome? You’ve brought it on yourself.

At least you get to stay at home and tidy up the loft or something.

The OP hasn't said where he's going. There are still plenty of places that require a negative test regardless of anything the UK government does. And there's many places you really wouldn't want to be if you started to develop symptoms that required more than a cold flannel.

Is this abroad trip? Is the country you are going to requiring a negative test prior?
