Spa hotel, Ireland

Once more I search for wisdom on the oracle that is Pistonheads!!

I'm off to Dublin to see some family in Dublin but Mrs M has decided that some romance is required eg she wants a short break at a nice spa hotel for a couple of nights.

So any recommendations ideally with some nice food, reasonably flexible on location

The K Club just outside of Dublin is great on all counts.

It looks weird from the car park (one taxi driver referred to it as “The Prison”) but the food, drink, rooms, spa etc were great, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. When I was there it rained almost constantly but it just didn’t matter…

i've stayed at the Portmarnock Hotel before and thought it was a nice place, but I didn't eat there or use the spa facilities! I did see Denise Van Outen at the bar though
