It looks like Dubai is very strict on the test you take before travel.
Emirates airline say the certificate must have a QR code and the
address of the testing station.
It appears a lot of people are being denied boarding anybody been in the last few weeks?
Where did you get tested?

Good question Kenty, we're on Emirates out of Gatwick to Dubai on March 23rd, I'm hoping that by then it may be a bit easier but best to be prepared so looking forward to seeing the answers to this one.

I've been over in Dec 2020 and Dec 2021. In December I wasn't asked for a test result at all, either in pre-departure in the UK or on arrival. That said, I'd still have one because 'thems the rules'.

Going out in December I used Dam Health https://dam-health.com/rt-pcr/ Mostly because there was a test centre nearby who could do a same day result. Had no problems with them, and they produce a 'certificate' which they send via email which complies with what Dubai needs.

I'm flying EK to Dubai tomorrow - just had my RT-PCR test done at Concepto Clinic in Milton Keynes:

They supposedly provide a certificate which is ok for Dubai, I'll find out later when it arrives!

I’m a dubai resident and use dam health for the reasons above.

You haven’t needed to show it on arrival for a long time, it’s the airlines responsibility. Given nothing covid related in uk is adequately enforced I’m not surprised it’s sporadically applied (although mine was checked at MAN last week).

For the return leg, they put your test details into the system before issuing boarding card, but then getting a test done here is super easy.

We used Concepto when we flew last week, it was tagged as a RT PCR.

The customs officers aren't checking, but there was an airport employee checking everyone's paper test certificate prior to boarding the train to customs hall.

Thanks for all the answers.
Luckily the PCR test requirement for entering UAE has now been lifted.

Yep. Also no mask requirements outdoors as of this morning, and no pcr to cross into Abu Dhabi from Monday
