2 night break in UK with dogs
Discussion
Hi all,
Looking for some inspiration, the missus has asked to go on a 2 night break somewhere, she wants to take the dogs (Husky and Wolfdog), missus is expecting so we wont be doing much probably just walking the dogs, have some lunch, few beers (me) and see anything local.
We are based in MK, because its only for 2 nights looking for around 2 hours away from MK, obviously needs to be dog friendly.
What areas should I start looking at? Cotswolds came to mind. Seems to be a few "dog friendly" places on Airbnb.
We have family in Cheshire and Norfolk/Suffolk who we visit regular so want to avoid them areas really.
Ideally I'd love to be back up in the highlands but its too far to go for such a short time.

Depends what your budget is, and what type of accommodation you want? I tend to look at AirBnB and filter by pet friendly options.
There's also places like the Pale Hall hotel, which featured on a recent Harry's Garage episode, and looks a rather nice and interesting place to stay.
There's also websites like www.petspyjamas.com that has links to pet friendly hotels and suchlike.

We've stayed at Pen Glan cottage near Dolgellau twice. Took 3 large dogs and really enjoyed it each time. Admittedly they were both full week stays but they might do weekends.
3.5 hours drive so too long for the OP.Peak District?
You'll do the south of it in about 2 hrs.
Or I would go with the Cotswolds as you suggested.
There are specific dog friendly holiday cottage sites you can search on. Hopefully you can get for 2 nights as it's out of season.
Stayed here.

We have used The Goodwood Hotel with our mutt. Lovely hotel with some great walks around the estate. Cater for the dogs with goody bags, beds and food in the rooms. These are the Garden rooms. Benefit is you can eat in Farmer,Butcher Chef or even The Kennels which is a very dog friendly place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some stunning walks. Big hotel compared to the next one we've used.Looking for some inspiration, the missus has asked to go on a 2 night break somewhere, she wants to take the dogs (Husky and Wolfdog), missus is expecting so we wont be doing much probably just walking the dogs, have some lunch, few beers (me) and see anything local.

Also much smaller and personable, The Well Diggers nearby Petworth. Lovely rooms with great food and staff. iFootpath have a six mile route to follow which takes in some gorgeous scenery.

I'd second the call for Pale Hall - https://www.palehall.co.uk/
One of the nicest places we've ever stayed and dog friendly.

I know, I don't have a dog but my brother came down who lives in Nottingham now and stayed there with his wife and border collie and 3 other couples bought their dogs too.Walks on the beach and the New Forest filled their weekend and they loved it.
It mentions it on the website on the rooms page - look under luxury suites.
My sister just stayed here and recommended it to me, might well go around Easter with our dog:

They provide wee doggie beds apparently.
