Anyone enjoyed Tunisia?

Worst country I’ve ever travelled to in my life for a holiday.
From the moment you land at the airport you are bothered by the locals aggressively.
Even on beaches they try to snatch your towel so they can place it down for you then ask for some money.
Had to travel there more than once unfortunately and I can’t even put it down to ‘just a few people’, it really was relentless.

My experience too... But we were in a coastal touristy resort. From the moment you land at the airport you are bothered by the locals aggressively.

More rural - as above - may be more relaxed.
The hassling of tourist to buy tat was just relentless.

Same. It is an awful place. Though to be fair, it is a few years I have been. It might have improved massively, become economically prosperous, stopped looking grubby and developed some sort of clue as to how the rest of the world lives.
In 2006 I went to Hotel Imperial Marhaba in Port El Kantaoui with newish, but now ex wife.
That may ring a bell because in 2015 dozens of tourists were killed there by a machine gun toting maniac, in all honesty when I heard the news I was not that surprised. The hotel was in a compound containing several others, but outside the gates it was a very hostile environment. We felt particularly vulnerable when we went on a pony trek / camel ride.
It is by far the worst holiday destination I have visited, Morocco is in second place which was a motorcycling tour to the Sahara.

I went to Tunisia for a week back in 2019. At the time we were saving up for a big holiday to Zimbabwe at the back end of the year so wanted to do something cheap and simple over the summer.
We were looking for an all inclusive with no real interest in leaving the hotel or seeing the country, for those types of holiday you can be anywhere in the world, it makes no difference!
We picked Tunisia as it was the cheapest. I've just checked and we paid £566pp for for 7 nights at the Royal Kenz Hotel in Port El Kantaoui which is a pretty ridiculous price for what we got I thought
In contrast to those above I had a nice week in the sun! No real interest in going back to see more of the country though

We went about 15 ears ago in late Jan for what was described as a great winter break. Never again
Rained, snowed, was generally quite cold, but the Star Wars Set was cool. Half the hotel was shut along with the Dive Center because it was out of season.
I'm sure it is better in season, but never been back to find out. I appreciate that we should have read more on Tunisia, but if memory serves it was booked in a a bit of rush.

They had a revolution a few years after you went, and it turned a promising place into a sthole all over again. Rained, snowed, was generally quite cold, but the Star Wars Set was cool. Half the hotel was shut along with the Dive Center because it was out of season.

I have to go to Tunisia for work…
Question: what are the recommended vaccines for that part of the world? years ago I went to Vietnam and I remember getting malaria vaccination and something else so I’m wondering if there is anything necessary for Tunisia?
Obviously I’d rather not take anything, but I’d rather not get something stupid…

Most likely Hepatitis or Yellow Fever.Question: what are the recommended vaccines for that part of the world? years ago I went to Vietnam and I remember getting malaria vaccination and something else so I’m wondering if there is anything necessary for Tunisia?

Nothing specifically needed for Tunisia unless you're an at-risk person or your work puts you in risky situations (sanitation, landfills, etc).
