Just checking the rules and plans for getting to Austria for a week later in Feb.

Adults looks easy, with having proof of being boosted all that is needed - the NHS app should be fine for this I suppose?

Kids over 12 a bit more complicated - they have something called a ninja pass.

Looks like for a 7 day stay - travelling from Sat to Sat - they need a PCR before travelling, which I think is valid for 72 hours, then a mix of LFT and PCR whilst there. The LFT and PCR seem available free in resort, and last 48 hours and 72 hours.

I think we'll try and get a PCR on Fri before going - get the result on the Sat before flying - which will last to Mon - then get another LFT on Sun (~immediate result) that lasts to Tues, then PCR on Mon that lasts to Thurs, then another LFT on Thurs that will get us to Sat & hence back.

Anyone actually done it or planned it?

We are going 19th Feb. Thought we would need to do Ninja pass for my 14 year old, but the rules changes recently. My son has had Covid and one jab so all he needs is entry PCR test now. Have you checked the latest rules?

Which resort are you going? Hochfugen for me.

We are doing a PCR on Friday 11th before flying on the 12th.

You will need to register and use this website to collect the tests https://my.novatium.at/

It is pretty easy, just put the hotel address in and mobile number. Then check your nearest store - ours is a SPAR in Fugen.

Apparently you can get 3 tests in one go and drop them off on the appropriate days.

I'm going on a school trip so am responsible for 30 Ninja Passes biggrin

Would love to hear from anyone who has used it!

Good luck with 30 kids! We are coming from Guernsey, and due to a lot of kids having had one jab and Covid we don't have to do the Ninja pass. I guess the situation is different in the UK?

They need 2 jabs or COVID recovery otherwise they need the pass.

Luckily all the over 12's in our group have had Covid and also 1 jab, so no need for Ninja pass.

What is the evidence of covid recovery in the UK? Or what do Austria accept?

Slight hijack of the thread.

I don't 100% get the current entry requirements for Austria - https://www.austria.info/en/service-and-facts/coro...

I am double jabbed, my second jab was in August 2021.

From what I understand, this gives me entry in to Austria, but as it's over 180 days since my second one, I'm not vaccinated when in the country? What does this mean? That I won't be able to go to shops/bars?

If I get a PCR before I go, does this change anything?

Clear as mud as always.

Having the exactly same issues myself!

My understanding currently is pre the 5th March (when the rules relax further)
There are "two number of days" to consider;
- Travel into country second jab no later than 280 days
- Travel around the country on public transport, visiting bar/resturant or going on a ski lift requires 2nd jab within 180 days (or booster).

We are going to Zell Am See this Saturday and are double jabbed no booster.

All covid measures are being realxed on the 5th March apart from hospital and chemists etc where a mask will still be required.

So we are good to go no covid dramas???

We just got back from Zell am See. What you have put above seems pretty accurate (but it was different for us entering on the 19th Feb). And from Saturday 5th it seems very relaxed when you are in the resort but the entry requirements don't seem to have changed.
