Why the juddering foooook do HMPO deal with such incompetent, uncontactable asses as TNT, did they pay the biggest bribe?

Pal ordered new passport online all done and sent out in 2 days no issue.
30 days later after one attempted delivery with TNT dheads 4 weeks ago nothing, no attempt at redelivery, no contact, nothing despite pal trying to liaise with passport office and long waits on phone on several occasions.

Don't suppose we'll be doing online check in on Monday at this rate and TBH may scrap the weekend break at the end of next month given the shambolic covid toing and froing rolleyes

Hang on, DPD or TNT? DPD usually set the standards for good delivery, I’ve had loads of gear via them and never had an issue, I seem to remember they were the first to let you properly track your parcel over here?

bks - just renewed my passport and was pleasantly surprised at how fast I got a notification saying it was already done and on it's way to me, and to expect an e-mail from TNT with tracking details frown this was only Thursday last week so will give some leeway for Christmas/New Years but fingers crossed they get in touch with a tracking ID.

I renewed my passport in Feb 23 and it was printed a few weeks later. Since then nothing.
I did a little digging and it seems TNT have just got the contract to deliver all documents from the BPO and it is not going well. (Sopra Steria were awarded the contract to do all the legwork in 2018)

I posted above about fearing the worst in Dec 21 but in actual fact the Passport Office sent my new passport via Royal Mail, recorded delivery. Turned up after a day or two of me posting. No idea if they are still doing that during the strikes though.
