Ph'ers - everyone I know seems to be getting passports in about 3 weeks. Submitted mine 25th August and all documents required sent same day and received by HMPO 27th August. It's a renewal, anyone here got a recent timescale? Apparently they are supposed to be turned round in 5 weeks at the moment.... please give honest answers.

Won't go into detail but not been away for 6 1/2 years and quite stressed.....
My online application just shows as 'being processed'....

Thanks

Chaz

Did mine on-line, renewal and uploaded own photo. Really easy process, never done on-line before but was impressed with how easy it was even for a technophobe like me. Sent old passport off, acknowledged receipt by email. Had my new passport back within 3 weeks, followed by old passport a few days later.

How long ago? Funnily enough after writing this I got my approval confirmation last night. Did it take long for it to be printed and sent from approval stage?

Interested in this - applied today, supposed to be flying in 4 weeks. Either it comes on time and everything's good; or it's late and have to re-book flights and am delayed; I do a fasttrack a passport and suck up the £49 for the standard application; or do a fasttrack passport and the standard one arrives on time so I suck up the £140 fasttrack cost. :-/

Edit - applying late because only just got baby's birth certificate, safest option is probably to do a fasttrack.

I recently did an initial for one son and a renewal for the other son. The initial was in my hand in approximately a week. 5 weeks for the renewal. From the point of it being approved it took about 3 days to get it. It turned up yesterday via TNT at 8am.

About 3 or 4 days for my new ‘British’ passport to arrive followed a day or so later by the old passport
(This was last week)

Other half got hers yesterday via TNT.

Application done online just under 3 weeks ago but I think the holdup was them receiving the old one... we sent it the same day first class but she only got a message to say it was received a few days ago.

To clarify, your son's first passport arrived a week after you applied? How long ago was this?

Just bumping this thread to see if anyone has renewed this month? Everyone I know who did theirs recently said 3-4 weeks total turn around. It's now coming up to 3 weeks without any further updates since they received my old passport.

Documents received: 3:42pm on 7 October 2021
Application received: 10:38pm on 30 September 2021
Application submitted: 10:38pm on 30 September 2021

I travel on the 17th November. If I need to rearrange, I can change Eurostar and hotel free of charge if it's 7+ days before the date, so the 10th November. So that's around 2 weeks from now for it to be sorted - I am starting to panic!

I emailed them after 4 weeks, as others in the household had come back. Maybe a coincidence but the same day it was completed and dispatched.

Filled out the online form stuff, digital photo etc. Start to finish in under 2 weeks.

Website that shows you progress didn't work. Went from - you've made an application and we are awaiting your old passport in the post -directly to it's being delivered tomorrow.

My eldest Daughter went to renew her UK passport in Bangkok, Thailand on 20 October. All applications in Thailand require a F2F interview/application process. She was told it would take 13 weeks.......
