Villa Resorts - Summer 2018

Looking for tips for decent self catering villa resorts, in or around the Med. We have been to Portugal the last couple of summers to Dunas Douradas https://www.ddbc.pt/index.php/en/ which has been very pleasant, maybe looking to try somewhere else next summer, can anybody recommend similar type of resorts? We find this type of holiday a bit more relaxing, no pressure to get up in time for breakfast, restaurant on site if needed, good pool scene for the kids to interact, beach nearby, lots of local shops and restaurants and so on...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but has anyone been here (Dunas Douradas) recently? We are looking to book, but they are only accepting a bank transfer and not credit cards. I could go through booking.com but its substantially dearer. Is it normal to pay by bank transfer for algarve holidays? Seems odd..Any tips appreciated
I wouldn’t pay by bank transfer. Are you sure they only do BT? From their t’s&c’s

Payment by credit card: A Form will be sent by email and should be filled with the credit card details, signed and returned. The deadline for the 1st payment is 3 days after the booking confirmation date. If the payment is not done within this period the booking can be cancelled. The credit card data provided is only for payment of the booking.
Payment by bank transfer: please contact the reservations department in order to have access to the bank details before the payment deadline. The deadline for this payment is 3 days after the booking confirmation date and a copy of the bank transfer should be sent to the following email: rentals@ddbc.pt. If the payment is not done within this period the booking can be cancelled.

Yeah thanks i found that too, after i posted. They email a form and then you have to email back the CC details. Still not great but at least section 75 kicks in if we turn up there and it doesn't exist 2. Payment Methods

Agree on the bank transfer, too risky.
