Benidorm Opinions?
Discussion
If you like all the creature comforts of home (familiar lager, full English, Sky Sports, everyone speaks English), with the added bonus of nice weather, Benidorm is for you.
If you like your foreign holidays to be "properly foreign", you'll hate it.
Personally, I'm in the latter camp - when I go away, I want to stay in a place that's as unspoilt by tourism as possible. I want to eat local food, drink local beer, and (if time permits) learn a bit of the local lingo.
Nothing wrong with wanting your holiday to be "like England, but a lot hotter", but it's not for me.

I'd rather spend an entire week repeatedly sticking my cock into a bag of angry Puff Adders than a week mixing it with British and Irish football strip wearing, beer and chips in the sunshine Chavs 'aaavin it large in Spanish holiday resorts.
Seriously, you wanna know what you're letting yourself in for? Imagine Clacton, Blackpool, Skegness and Scarborough on a bank holiday weekend all rolled into one but 15 degrees warmer and with loads more tat in the shops and way more litter and vomit slicks on the pavements.
Still fancy it?
Though not.

Went to Moraira last year which is just up the coast, had a really nice chilled time staying in a relatives villa. It's got about 4 small beaches that when we went (May half term) were pretty quiet. Would have gone back this year but left it too late and it's full during the school holidays.

Moraira is a lovely place, we go for 10 days every year at the start of September for a cheap week in a nice villa. We're currently on holiday in Cyprus (Protaras) and I can't wait to get to Moraira, it's so more relaxed and laid back. Cyprus is hot and our hotels lovely but it's a bit of a dump once you're off the main strip. Plus I've grown fully intolerant of the rude impatient fat Russians that are littered about the place. They can f#ck the right off.
You do see Benidorm as you drive past to Moraira though

I have been all over the world and I have been to some disgusting third world places but Benidorm is definitely the single worst place I have ever been to.
It has quite literally no redeeming features and the British people there are like a different species whom you will look at in total bewilderment at why they behave like they do, whilst asking yourself idle questions like "If I ate 4 Mcdonalds per day for 10 years, could I ever get that fat?". Or "I wonder if that lifesize tattoo of a Bulldog was just a small tattoo when etched when they were thinner".
That said, you might be one of these people and just that fact that you say you "fancy it" means that you will probably love every moment of it.
To me, though, that is the same thing as saying "I quite fancy AIDS. I might give it a go".

Not if you come from Valencia I'm off to Benidorm for our works annual Xmas weekend on the piss. Cheap booze, cheap hotel, warmer than England
£120 for flights and a '4 star' hotel for a couple of nights. Cheaper than going out here
