Passport-less child travelling in uk

[5MUG]

I have checked with BA (with whom we are travelling) and they say it is ok for a child under 16 to travel within the UK. We fly from Gatwick Edinburgh. But does anyone know if there will be a problem at the other security points at the airport? I can't find anything on any website.
Thanks
S

In internal flights I do not think so. I would add the child to the passport asap because paperwork is always useful when travelling.

On an internal flight in the UK I cannot see a legal requirement.

BA don't require a passport for travelling, so you'll be fine, it is only the cheap carriers that always request you have photo ID.
