Greek Island weather in September?

The GF and I are looking for a week of sun mid/late September, we're considering somewhere in the Med and we've seen a great deal for a week in Skiathos. Anyone been out that way at that time of year? Realistically what kind of weather should we expect? Don't want it to be too scorchio but we would like to get back home looking like we've been away, if you know what I mean!

September really is the end of the season but the weather is still good, I've been sailing around the Greek Islands in Aug/Sept and the weather was sunny and temp was in the mid 20's C so not too bad.

Will really depend on the weather and when exactly you are going as it's end of season. WIll be nice and quiet and relaxing though as they wind down for the off season.

We went to Paxos in early October for a week 2 years back. It was raining heavily when we got off the plane and raining when we stepped back on the plane to come home. We had one afternoon of no rain.

It does depend on weather though, it's not usuallly like that, I've done Greece many times in September and the weather has been warm, dry and sunny.

Sounds like it'll be warm and possibly wet then rather than (not too) hot and guaranteed sun, I suppose that for that time of year it's more of a gamble as to how much it'd rain.

We're off to Lefkada (Ionian island north of Kefalonia) on Sep 1st, and have been going there for ages at that time of the year.

By that time, the sea is warm and the temperatures usually hover around 28 deg C; very agreeable.
