Question RE: smoking area at Gatwick South Terminal

Quick question posted from phone so sorry if it's breif.

Flying out to playa del Carmen at 2:55 (delayed from 11:50) so sat in the god awful Marriott at the minute not wanting to leave and be stranded through security unable to smoke.

Any Phers know if there is a smoking area through the security at the south terminal?

I've heard conflicting stories. Somebodies said its upstairs on the mezeny through a bar? The website also gives conflicting evidence.

Due to the smoking ban they wont have one. Southampton used to have one but when the smoking ban came in it went.
