Anyone been to Norway recently?
Discussion
Specifically Bergen,
I'm heading across for a long weekend for my 40th, was going to do Tallinn but stories of pissed up Brits put me off.
Anyway I went about 6 years ago and loved it and yes it was expensive but i'm prepared for that.
Anyway a couple of questions, Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Bergen? I've a couple in mind but thought i'd get recommendations off anyone that has been recently?
More importantly what are the current beer prices in the bars around Bergen, Even 6 years ago i think it was 7-8 quid a beer?
Any pointer from someone that has been recently?
Cheers.

I pay around 8 pounds in Oslo.
Haven't made the trek over to Bergen yet, so can't comment on hotels there.
On general, the older looking 'traditional' hotels are not that good. The Grand Hotel in Oslo, good enough for Obama when he collected his gong, really isn't all that.
Find a new modern hotel and it'll be good enough, have a look for a Radisson Blu, they seem to get it right.
Skål !

looks like the last FlyBus is at 00:15 (http://www.flybussen.no/bergen/index.asp?lang=ENG) Doesn't look like they start again until about 7am. Local bus service appears to be the same (http://eng.tide.no/Default.aspx?pageid=1035).
Taxi......
Or a few cheap pints in the airport bar lolTaxi......

Some nice microbreweries in Bergen. Great place, if you've deep pockets. Have fun
Cheers guv
I'm under no illusion it's gonna be expensive but the last place I wanted to go to is somewhere like Amsterdam, Prague or some other eastern block which is full of pissed up Brits being scowled at by locals that hate your presence.
When I was last in Bergen the locals loved the British.
