Hi, does anyone have any advice for travelling into Monaco on race weekend? I'm guessing train would be the best option?

Thanks in advance!

Or, if you have time, there's a small passenger boat/ferry from Nice that's really interesting.

I went a couple of years ago and had helicopter transport from Nice. Best way to beat the traffic!

Sorry no, it was a few years ago.

We walked from Nice to the harbour and bought return tickets on the quay.

Lovely way to get to and from Monaco. Not quick but pretty coast with lots of celebrity houses and boats.

Easyjet, then get the L110 express bus from the airport. Its an express bus and takes around 30mins from the airport at a 30min frequency. Doesnt stop until Monaco from the airport. Bus is 30euro return you can buy ticket on the bus. First stop Fontveille then Mc station, Casino Square

Pretty sure there is a train service...that bus sounds good though. I imagine the chopper gets very booked up for race weekend but it is actually reasonably priced compared to a cab. Mate of mine used to live in Monaco....a few years ago I had to get from Monaco to Nice and just went to Hertz and got a one way hire car....I had the car for the whole day which was cheaper than just getting a normal cab.

Yeah, the one issue with the train is getting from the airport to the station. Did it once, just took forever! Find the bus quicker.

Taking the train would be easy. Eurostar to Paris, then change onto a direct train to Monaco.

A few mates and I are going to the grand prix. We're travelling from Frejus on the train. We are going to purchase the tickets once we are down. Have a look at this website. It is German but covers France and allows you easily see the train times.

How much is the direct train from Paris? And how long does it take?

It takes 6 hours and pricing depends on dates. Check out www.sncf-voyages.com with your dates. There is one direct train a day.

I went a couple of weeks ago. We got a bus direct from the airport to Nice central train station (number 99 IIRC, about 1 euro), then the train straight to Monaco (3 euros). Took about 40 minutes altogether, including waiting times.

There's a train station near the airport (Saint Augustin), but it's not signposted at all and is still a bit of a trek on foot.

Or the helicopter. 110 euros each way and you get a free shuttle to your hotel. Only takes 7 minutes. cool

Train is cheap and cheerful, which leaves more money for the important things on race weekend.....19 Euro beers haha
