Pricing up getting the Ferry over to N. Ireland as the OH is originally from there. We usually fly, but really want to take the car and have a bit of freedom and not have to pester her parents for lifts or get the bus when staying.

The price for 1 car + 2 people return is coming in at between £220 to £300, but I'd like to get it in cheaper.

So I just wondered if anyone had ever done this with an offer, and if so where to look for offers/coupons etc and what ferry tends to be cheaper (I wouldn't mind driving up from Dublin for a significant price difference). Cheers!

Try Billy Nutt for a price, usually gets the best prices. Cheapest will probably be the slow boat into Larne if you travel at night.

That's a typical price, with only one real operator serving that route they have the ability to charge what they want.

Paid £260 for a Belfast to Scotland return in June for a car and two passengers.

Cheers, will give Billy Nutt a try, not too fussed on where the ferry lands or leaves from so it might work in my favour.

I prefer taking the fast ferry from Holyhead to Dublin to get to NI from England. anything to avoid the boring drive up to stranraer or cairnryan. Dublin to Belfast is well less Than a 2 hour drive these days.

This was my thought. Is it worth the extra money to avoid the drive then? It's a bit of a mission to Stranraer. It'd actually be Dublin to Lisburn, so not quite as far and I think it's straight up the motorway.

If you book through the AA/StenaLine Website you get about 10-15% off. Normally we get premium tickets for less than the standard ones.
