We have about a grand's worth of US dollars left over from last holiday. We're off to Turkey this year. I know they readily accept Bank of England notes - but what's the take on US Dollars? Should we take the dollars (cash) with us and convert there, or should we convert to Sterling before we go, or even convert to Lira?

Advice appreciated!!!! Thanks

We were there late last year. All they wanted were dollars. They always looked disappointed when we paid with Turkish money. Dollars were definitely the currency the multitude of Russians paid with.

Yes, take dollars. We were near Antalya last summer and it was widely taken.

Bizarre really..
