didn't knew where to put this, motorbike forum, travel or the lounge.
on the bank holiday weekend in may wife will be away so i was thinking about going somewhere.
the problem is that i don't know where and decided to ask here.
bikes in question are a honda magna and a virago so thinking about 80mph cruise speed.
i don't drink or do drugs.
never visited any derelict buildings but its fun to look at the pictures so could give it a go if anything on the way.
let me know what you guys think.
Thank you.
starting point will be in reading at 9am (the other guy works night shifts so im giving him 5 hours sleep).

Six hours from Calais gives you immense scope. (You dont make clear if 6 hours is the time you have away from Calais, or if this is the time you are prepared to ride one-way)
Bruges is a fabulous small city that you can walk around after a short-ish ride, Paris is within reach, as is Reims (including the ex F1 track), Epernay is worth a look too (appreciate you dont drink, but the effect of the champagne growers money makes both Reims & Epernay interesting). Northern French roads are ripe for blatting - nice & open, undulating & twisty.
If you are on a 6 hour one-way ride, you should be able to reach the Ardennes (think Spa) or possibly the western reaches of the Black Forest. Dropping down to Rouen & crossing the Seine to the arty pretty (but touristy) fishing village of Honfleur is on the cards too.
You need to think if you are intending to spend the whole day in the saddle (I've never ridden a bike, but 6 hours roof-down can be quite draining)and whether your preference is autoroutes or back roads, or go a short distance & explore on foot.
