Cheap-ish rentals South of France, Italian Riviera

Looking at visiting the south of France - flying to Nice and touring as far as Portofino with hire car. Any ideas where to stay on a reasonable budget (£100/night)? I know this is not the cheapest part of the world to visit !!

When visiting Portofino, do not try to get accommodation there (or drive there). Stay in Rapallo or Santa Margherita, then go to Portofino by bus, boat, or foot!
