Hi,
Have 3 days in Dusseldorf shortly and never been to Germany before, won't have a car with me and intend to use local transport to get around.
Anybody know the area and can offer advice re interesting places to visit and I understand that there is a decent theme park not far away that may appeal to daughter, is this accessible by train,
Regards,
Martyn

Info on how to get there in English.
Get an RE (faster double decker) train from D-dorf down to Cologne, then get the number 18 tram (Underground train) from
Breslauer Platz/Hauptbahnhof platform 3 in the direction of BRÜHL, Brühl Mitte or BONN, Bonn Hauptbahnhof.
Shuttle buses pick up from Brühl Mitte according to the Website.
You can also get trains out to Brühl railway station, which are quicker.
If you get a ticket from a machine, they are already stamped with the date and time to validate them.
If you are using the U-Bahn in D-dorf and buy a multiple trip ticket, make sure you validate them in the stamping machines
which are usually at the entrance to the platforms or on the trams themselves.
Train maps etc..

While in Cologne you might as well have a wander out of the station and see the Cathedral before hopping on a train back to D-dorf.
Try the Altbier in D-dorf, lots of brands some better than others, a good excuse for a pub crawl in the Altstadt.
