Looking to have a week or two in Jersey with the wife and our 1yr old.

We prefer to rent a house and do our own thing. Is anyone aware of a site for Jersey that lists that type of place? I've tried Sawadays and the like but they don't have anywhere in Jersey.

Cheers.

flyjersey.com seems to have cottages and apartments for rent.

www.macoles.com

We have used them and their rental properties are always top notch, and very well equipped.

To update this... we booked through Dominic @ Macoles in the end. We were a little hesitant when we had to use them for flights too, but it was cheaper than booking direct so no problem there! Even got our car hire sorted. A very pleasant experience.

Sorry if this is a bit late, and sorry if it doesn't actually provide you with much help.

I've been to Jersey loads and have stayed in a range of places, from hotels to guest houses and B & B's. I have found each place to be very pleasant, if a little basic in some areas.

Jersey itself is lovely and there is so much to see and do. Try the War Tunnels (used to be called the German Underground Hospital), take a drive around the coast of the island (where you will see lots of old gun emplacements and bunkers etc), go to Elizabeth(?) castle in St Helier and either walk (if the tide is out) or get the boat to the site, and finally, check out Corbierre lighthouse. Bear in mind, with this lighthouse the tide can come in and leave you stranded (it does have a warning siren though).

Oh yes, don't forget the castle at Gorey (Mont Orgueil). If it is a clear day you can see the coast of France from the top.

I don't know if the above helps (as you may have been before), but they are some of the places i've been to that I enjoyed. smile

Thanks for that.

We're using it as a tester to see how our one year old does on a flight. Not too far and with a bit of sun at the end. He will love the old castles and forts too.
